Havana. Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez condemned Monday the United States Administration´s obsession to destroy the Revolution.

“New millions for old infamies, for the perverse obsession to destroy the Revolution," wrote Díaz-Canel on Twitter, while commenting on the White House's decision to allocate up to three million dollars for covert actions to denounce presumed labor and sexual exploitation in Cuba.

Geneva – People in countries under sanctions cannot protect themselves against COVID-19 or get life-saving treatment if they fall ill because humanitarian exemptions to the sanctions are not working, UN human rights experts* said today.

Jamaica Blasts US Ban on Retail Shop Sales to Cubans

CUBA,  July 8, 2014. Kingston reiterated its support of Cuba against the recent US ban on the PriceSmart bulk-shopping warehouse to do transactions with Cuban diplomats in Jamaica for considering an illegal measure.

According to Jamaica's Daily Times newspaper, the US PriceSmart bulk-shopping warehouse suspended in March the accounts of the Cuban embassy staff and citizens residing on the island without permanent residency by saying that the company was forced to imposed the ban, citing the over-50-year economic blockade of Cuba.

Pastors for Peace Caravan to Cuba Successfully Crosses from BC, Canada into Washington, US

CANADA,  July 9, 2014Over 90 supporters gathered at Peace Arch Park today, Sunday July 6, to send off the 25th Pastors for Peace Caravan to Cuba. Supporters came from across British Columbia and Washington State to make sure all of the humanitarian aid collected in British Columbia would make it across the border and on its way to Cuba. 

US Subversive Plots Against Cuba Denounced in Mexico

MEXICO, June 23, 2014. US President Barack Obama''s government and the counter-revolutionary groups based in Miami are currently elaborating a new subversive plot against Cuba, using so-called "soft war" techniques, according to a new report published in Mexico.

In a report that appeared in the La Jornada newspaper, journalist Carlos Fazio warned that the National Cuban American Foundation is back to its old methods, but now without trying to kill Cuba's president, or sabotage and terrorize people in the Caribbean nation.

French Finance Minister Says BNP Fine Could Affect EU-U.S. Trade Talks

PARIS, June 6, 2014. The fine that U.S. authorities are set to impose on the French bank BNP Paribas could affect EU-US trade talks, French Finance Minister Michel Sapin said Thursday.

"We are trusted partners and this trust should not be broken," Sapin told the French daily Le Monde, referring to EU and the United States.

Media reports have said that BNP Paribas, France's biggest bank, could face criminal charges and a fine of up to $10 billion for managing transactions for countries under U.S. economic sanctions, like Iran, Sudan and Cuba.
