The Revolutionary Government of the Republic of Cuba condemns in the strongest terms the measures announced by the United States Government on 4 June 2019, further tightening the economic blockade imposed on Cuba for over 60 years, at a cost for the Cuban economy which amounted to over 134 billion dollars in 2018

Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno RodrIguez, has denounced that the tightening and extraterritorial application of the US economic, financial and commercial blockade is an attack on International Law and the sovereignty of States. Rodriguez posted on Twitter that this policy is the main impediment to our development and a flagrant violation of the human rights of all Cubans.

US Economic Blockade Attacks Cuban Education

CUBA, September 26, 2014. The economic, trade and financial blockade imposed on Cuba by the United States more than half a century ago, attacks the education sector in the Caribbean island.

Education is a inalienable right of all Cubans along their lives, and it is a fundamental principle of the Revolution, reflected in the Article 39 of the Constitution, says the report called “Need to Put an End to the Economic, Trade and Financial Blockade Imposed by the United States of America on Cuba.”

US Blockade Affects Cuba's International Cooperation

Colombian President says Washington Should Lift its Failed Blockade of Cuba

CUBA, September 24, 2014. Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos said that he hopes that the United States and Cuba may get to working relations that lead to the lifting of the US blockade of the island, which in his opinion has failed.

Santos made his statements during a speech at the Harvard Club in New York before entrepreneurs and professors, where he also referred to the improvement of bilateral relations between Bogota and Caracas by saying that despite political differences the well being of the region is what prevailed, international media outlets reported on Wednesday.

The blockade, a policy against life

CUBA,  September 24, 2014. For those who still insist on calling it an economic embargo, a glance at the report on the effects of this irrational U.S. policy in areas such as public health, due to be presented next month at the UN, is enough to dismiss this euphemism or at the very least call it into question.
