Cuban Health Minister Jose Angel Portal said Tuesday that solidarity can not be blocked, in reference to the blockade imposed against Cuba by the U.S. government. As the empire tightens the genocidal economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba, our collaborators continue to bring health to the most intricate corners of the world, Portal said in Twitter.

US continues to encourage illegal departures from Cuba despite thaw

CUBA,  June 2, 2015. Despite current efforts towards the future normalization of bilateral relations between the United States and Cuba, the US´s dry-wet feet law continues to encourage dangerous and illegal departures of Cuban citizens to the US.

International agencies reported on Thursday that the US Coast Guard rescued 13 Cubans who illegally tried to make it to American coasts onboard a precarious raft, which adds to others intercepted this year by the US coastal service.

Parlatino Stresses Its Firm Stance against US Blockade on Cuba

PANAMA, May 18, 2015.  The permanent and unwavering stance of the Latin American Parliament (Parlatino) against the US blockade on Cuba and its support for peace in Colombia, are achievements highlighted here today by its President, Elias Castillo.

Lawsuit against the United States for financial damages

ON May 5, 2000, the Civil and Administrative Court of Law at the Havana Provincial People’s Court rendered Judgment no.47 on Civil Case number 1, pursuant to the lawsuit of the People of Cuba vs. the Government of the United States, for financial damages inflicted on Cuba, filed by the country’s social and mass organizations.[i]

US National Network on Cuba demands an end to US blockade

CUBA,  April 30, 2015. Activists of the US National Network on Cuba condemned Washington´s economic blockade against the island on Wednesday in Havana during a meeting at Casa de la Amistad.

Kenia Serrano, President of the Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, ICAP, welcomed the solidarity activists on behalf of the Cuban people and thanked them for their struggle for the release of the Cuban Five.

"They are back, she said, thanks to you", making reference to the US solidarity activists.

Cuban Ambassador to The Bahamas stresses that the blockade against Cuba is still in force

BAHAMAS, April 17th, 2015. The Ambassador of Cuba to The Bahamas, Ernesto Soberón Guzmán offered an exclusive interview to the National Chanel of TV “ZNS”.

During the interview, the Cuban diplomat addressed some topics of interest such as the recent announcement of the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and the United States, and the effects of genocidal economic and commercial blockade of the United States against Cuba; which, he reiterated, is the main obstacle on the way to the normalization of relations between Washington and Havana.

The UK newspaper further states that "if Barack Obama wants to do something worthwhile in his final years as president he could use Cuba’s role in the Ebola crisis as an opening to start to lift that blockade and wind down the US destabilisation war".
