Helms-Burton Law threatens peace, Cuban President Warns

Cuba's President Miguel Diaz-Canel has cautioned the Helms-Burton Law threatens peace, solidarity, peaceful coexistence and friendship. 'It's a law enacted to neo-colonize and enslave,' he further wrote in Twitter about Washington's barring the Peace Boat from docking in Cuban ports, as a result of restrictions recently enforced on US private vessels and planes.

Cuba is not frightened by the measures tightening the blockade

The Revolutionary Government of the Republic of Cuba condemns in the strongest terms the measures announced by the United States Government on 4 June 2019, further tightening the economic blockade imposed on Cuba for over 60 years, at a cost for the Cuban economy which amounted to over 134 billion dollars in 2018

Helms-Burton Act violates United Nations Charter, Cuba denounces

The condemnation of the Helms-Burton Act imposed by the United States on Cuba has grown all over the world, because its enforcement violates the United Nations Charter and the precepts of International Law. Cuba, Vietnam, rejects tightening of US blockade

From Vietnam, Cuba denounced that the United States intends to tighten the blockade by activating Title III of the Helms Burton Act. Members of the Cuban diplomatic mission toured the northern province of Ninh Binh and in a meeting with local authorities claimed that the intentions of Donald Trump's administration will crash once again against the unwavering will of the Cuban people.

Cuba to continue development despite US blockade, Foreign Minister says

Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez said on Twitter that despite the intensification of the US blockade, Cuba will continue its economic development. "Faced with the intensification of the blockade and the threat of making it total and complete, Cubans together will find solutions to the difficulties and continue our economic development", Minister Rodríguez wrote.

President Diaz-Canel: US Blockade against Cuba is a failure

President Miguel Diaz-Canel assured on Wednesday that the US commercial, economic and financial blockade against Cuba is a failure in attempting to overthrow the Cuban Revolution. The President tweeted that the US government has applied the 'most complex, sophisticated and comprehensive system of unilateral coercive measures ever seen' against Cuba for 60 years.

New lawsuit against Cuban companies under Helms-Burton

A new lawsuit was filed in Florida against several Cuban tourism companies under Title III of Helms-Burton Act, activated by the U.S. government. According to Prensa Latina, members of the Mata family filed a claim in the federal court of the Southern District of Florida to request compensation for the use of the Meliá San Carlos hotel, in Cienfuegos.
