Leader of the opposition leader in Dominica condemns the hostile policy of the United States government against Cuba

Roseau, July 8, 2020.- The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Ulises Arranz Fernández, received this afternoon at the Embassy headquarters, the leader of the oppositon, of the United Workers Party (UWP) and member of the parliament of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Lennox Linton. During the meeting, the Cuban Ambassador provided updated information on the situation in Cuba, the work carried out by health collaborators in Dominica as well as the most recent actions of the US government against Cuba.

In this sense, the Cuban Ambassador mentioned the most recent measures of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the US government against Cuba, among which are those applied in the midst of the COVID 19 pandemic and that has prevented the country acquire products to combat it. He also referred to the media campaign developed by the US government to manipulate and discredit the work of cuban health collaborators, whose professionalism, dedication and human sensitivity is witnessed by the dominican people. He expresses his satisfaction at the “eternal thanks” to those collaborators that appears in a recent letter from the UWP sent to the Embassy.

For his part, the leader of the opposition in Dominica thanked the information offered by the Ambassador and reiterated the ties of historical friendship of the people of Dominica with the people of Cuba and the UWP with the Communist Party of Cuba. He condemned the hostile policy of the US government against Cuba, especially the blockade, which is condemned every year at the United Nations by the vast majority of the world's governments.
