The Association of Cuban Residents in Toronto, Canada, rejected the application of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act for violating the sovereignty of Cuba and third countries. A statement states this action by President Donald Trump is the latest interventionist escalation to impose its hegemony on Our America, describing it as 'inhumane and harmful to the Cuban people.'

Cuban emigrants reject US hostility against their home country

The Jose Marti Alliance, which gathers organizations of Cuban emigration in Miami, rejected Washington's new sanctions against Cuba. Andres Gomez, national coordinator of the Antonio Maceo Brigade, indicated that there was a meeting at the coalition headquarters to respond to the new attacks and policies of Donald Trump's administration.

China Opposes Tightening of US Blockade against Cuba

China has reiterated its opposition to the US unilateral measures that tighten the economic, financial and commercial blockade against Cuba, by emphasizing that it is an obstacle to the socioeconomic development and welfare of the Caribbean nation.

US organizations criticize new measures against Cuba

US organizations favorable to the rapprochement with Cuba criticized the new measures announced by the Trump Administration and warned of its negative consequences for the Cuban  people. They also denounced that both the application of Title III of the controversial Helms-Burton Law, as well as the new restrictions on travel and remittances are focused on the aspirations for Trump´s reelection.

Jamaica-Cuba Friendship Association condemns recent sanctions against Cuba

The Jamaica-Cuba Friendship Association issued a statement condemning the recent decision by the Trump Administration to fully apply Title III of the Helms-Burton Act.  "The sabre-rattling statements by a motley crew led by the US president Donald Trump (...) should be exposed and strongly resisted especially by the peoples of our region that has been declared a Zone of Peace". 

Mexico slams United States decision to apply Helms-Burton Act vs Cuba

Mexico's government rejected the decision of  Trump's administration on the Helms-Burton Act. The statement, issued  by the Foreign Ministry states that "the Government of Mexico regrets the US decision to apply for the first time in history Title III of the Helms-Burton Act, allowing US citizens to file lawsuits against companies that use properties confiscated after the Cuban Revolution in 1959".

Russia Reiterates its condemnation to US unilateral sanctions against Cuba

Russia has reiterated its strong condemnation of the application of unilateral sanctions by the United States, commenting on the recent White House announcement of a new package of punitive measures against Cuba.
