US Congressmen in Havana: We must end the blockade against Cuba

CUBA,  May 28, 2015. Four US congressmen agreed this Wednesday, May 27, in Havana on the need to end the blockade against Cuba and to continue advancing the process of normalization of the relations between the two nations.

"We must end with this prohibition (the blockade) and find a "pragmatic way" to have relations that benefit the two peoples, expressed Raul Grijalva, representative for Arizona and one of the members a delegation compossed by two senators and to representatives, al of them Democrats, that arrived last Saturday to our country.

Parlatino Stresses Its Firm Stance against US Blockade on Cuba

PANAMA, May 18, 2015.  The permanent and unwavering stance of the Latin American Parliament (Parlatino) against the US blockade on Cuba and its support for peace in Colombia, are achievements highlighted here today by its President, Elias Castillo.

At the opening of the XXX Ordinary Assembly, Castillo said the institution is working to eradicate social inequality, hunger, poverty and marginalization of the region, and Latin America and the Caribbean move towards peace and integration.

France's President demand the end of US blockade against Cuba

CUBA, May 11, 2015. French president, Francois  Hollande,  demanded this Monday in Havana, the end of the United States economic blockade against Cuba which has "damaged2 the development of the Caribbean nation. France will make its best to contribute to the "normalization be achieved, that the measures that has demaged so much the development of Cuba be eliminated, supressed", expressed Hollande during a master conference at the University of Havana.  

The French President arrived to Cuba in an official visit this Sunday evening.

US National Network on Cuba demands an end to US blockade

CUBA,  April 30, 2015. Activists of the US National Network on Cuba condemned Washington´s economic blockade against the island on Wednesday in Havana during a meeting at Casa de la Amistad.

Kenia Serrano, President of the Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, ICAP, welcomed the solidarity activists on behalf of the Cuban people and thanked them for their struggle for the release of the Cuban Five.

"They are back, she said, thanks to you", making reference to the US solidarity activists.

Cuban Ambassador to The Bahamas stresses that the blockade against Cuba is still in force

BAHAMAS, April 17th, 2015. The Ambassador of Cuba to The Bahamas, Ernesto Soberón Guzmán offered an exclusive interview to the National Chanel of TV “ZNS”.

During the interview, the Cuban diplomat addressed some topics of interest such as the recent announcement of the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and the United States, and the effects of genocidal economic and commercial blockade of the United States against Cuba; which, he reiterated, is the main obstacle on the way to the normalization of relations between Washington and Havana.

Most Cuban-Americans Support US-Cuba Rapprochement, Survey Reveals

 Most Cuban-Americans now support the rapprochement announced by the governments of the United States and Cuba on 17 December, confirmed a new national survey. The 51 percent of Cuban-Americans support the efforts of the White House to begin the normalization of diplomatic relations with the island, revealed the investigation conducted by the consulting firm Bendixen & Amandi International.

The acceptance rate of Cuban-Americans who live outside the southern state of Florida is much higher (up to 69 percent), indicated the study.

US Under-Secretary of Commerce for International Trade: Lifting Cuba embargo is the right move

US Under-Secretary of Commerce for International Trade, Stefan Selig, said the world has changed since Cuba was put on the State Sponsors of Terrorism List and Obama’s new policy to lift the Cuban embargo is a historic decision and a proper move. According to a report by VOVworld, Selig issued the statement on Wednesday during a conference held in Pennsylvania, adding that the US Secretary of State might soon remove Cuba from this list.

 

Sean Penn Slams US Government for Cuba Blockade

The Oscar-winning Hollywood actor Sean Penn has denounced his government for numerous foreign policy fouls, such as the blockade of Cuba and creating the Islamic State group. Penn, during an interview on the "Conan" show on Wednesday, referred to call the U.S's half-century freeze out of Cuba a “blockade”.
