Forum on US Embargo against Cuba takes place in the University of West Indies

TRINIDAD Y TOBAGO, , October 19, 2015.- Sponsored by the Institute of International Relations of the University "West Indies" of Trinidad and Tobago and the Embassy of Cuba, was held a discussion forum entitled " The Economic, Commercial and Financial Embargo of US against Cuba ".

The programme of the event included remarks by the Ambassador of Cuba in Trinidad and Tobago, H.E. Guillermo Vázquez Moreno and Dr. Jacqueline Martinez LaGuardia, as well as a session dedicated to questions and answers. The forum was presented  by the prominent professor Dr. Raymond Mark Kirton.

Association of Cubans living in Egypt calls for cessation of the blockade against Cuba

EGYPT, October 19th, 2015.- In a statement, released this morning at the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy, the Association of Cubans living in Egypt demanded the immediate and unconditional lifting of the blockade imposed on Cuba for more than half a century.

The document signed by the President of the Association, Victor Barbier, expresses that the blockade constitutes a violation massive and continuous of individual and collective human rights of all Cubans and is the main obstacle to economic and social development of the greatest of the Antilles.

Demonstrations in Canada against the blockade of Cuba

CANADA, October 18th, 2015.- The Group “Friends of Cuba Against the U.S. Blockade-Vancouver” (FCAB-Van), met on October 17th for the second consecutive month in front of the Consulate General of the United States, demanding its government to lift the unjust economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed against Cuba for over 50 years.

CELAC-EU Summit rejects blockade of Cuba and its extraterritorial impact

The final declaration of the Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the European Union (EU), which concluded June 11 in Brussels, rejected the U.S. blockade against Cuba and its extraterritorial impact.
The 2nd CELAC-EU Summit was held over two days in the Justus Lipsius building, headquarters of the European Council, and saw the participation of more than 40 heads of state and government and high level delegations from 61 countries throughout the two regions.

EU rejects U.S. blockade

BELGIUM, June 9th, 2015. Yesterday, Cuban Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Abe­­lardo Moreno stated that the European Union’s position regarding Cuba is developing in a positive way and emphasized the bloc’s rejection of the U.S. blockade against the island.

The EU’s position in regards to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the U.S. is of key importance to Cuba, stated Moreno during a press conference.

Association of Cubans living in Jamaica approves declaration in support of Cuba and against blockade
