The Ambassador of Cuba exposes negative effects of blockade on Pan African Television Channel

GHANA, 27th October, 2017.- The Ambassador of Cuba to Ghana, Pedro Luis Despaigne González was interviewed for the Pan African Television Channel´s Hot News Program.

In the interview, led by the journalist Eugene Edem Buzady, the Ambassador addressed a wide range of issues that had as an articulating axis the negative effects of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US for more than five decades to the Cuban population. In his analysis he demonstrated that the blockade is a tool used to destroy the Cuban Revolution.

The Cuban diplomat emphasized Cuba's historical relations with the African continent and with Ghana in particular. In his words he thanked the African Union for its common position against the blockade.

Other topics covered were: the historical relations between Cuba and the former Soviet Union, and the current relations with the Russian Federation; the characteristics of the Cuban political system and the popular support for the Revolution; the falsehoods about the supposed "sonic attacks" to US diplomats in Cuba. With regard to the latter aspect, the Ambassador reiterated Cuba's commitment and attachment to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
