Fellow countrymen,

Since my election as President of the State Council and Council of Ministers I have reiterated in many occasions our willingness to hold a respectful dialogue with the United States on the basis of sovereign equality, in order to deal reciprocally with a wide variety of topics without detriment to the national Independence and self-determination of our people.

Cuba Denounces Restrictions on International Cooperation Imposed by U.S. Blockade

GENEVA,  December 5, 2014. Cuba's Ambassador to International Organizations in Geneva, Anayansi Rodríguez Camejo, reaffirmed the commitment of the island to achieve the provisions of the Convention on Biological Weapons, in the general debate of the Meeting of State Parties of the Convention.

Cuban Residents in Europe Demand End of US Blockade

NETHERLANDS,  November 28, 2014. Cubans residents in The Netherlands held their 3rd National Forum this month in The Hague, and issued a declaration demanding the end of the over-50-year US blockade against their homeland and the release of three Cuban anti-terrorist fighters held in US prisons since 1998.

The National Conference, organized by the Hola-Cuba Association and the island´s embassy in The Netherlands, was presided over by Cuban ambassador Fermin Quiñonez and General Consul Digna Tey, according to information released by the diplomatic mission.

At WTO, Cuba urges the United States to end with the economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba

GENEVA, November 18, 2014. Cuban Ambassador to the International Organization in Geneva,  Anayansi Rodríguez Camejo, urged the United States to respect the position of 188 member State of the World Trade Organization who vote in favor of the end of the blockade against Cuba during last United Nations General Assembly.

The statement issued during the meeting of the WTO Dispute Settlement Body who assesses each month the non-compliance by the United States in relation with “Section 211”.

US Laws Has Always Been Designed to Suffocate Cuba

On February 9, 1995, a year before the Helms-Burton Act of 1996, House Representative, and New York Democrat Charles Rangel introduced a bill, the Free Trade with Cuba Act, designed to remove the blockade and begin a dialogue with Cuba. The United Nations General Assembly will consider today, for the twenty third time, this issue which is so important for the international community, because it has to do with International Law, which protects all States, whether big or small, rich or poor, and is what guarantees their independence and exercise of their national sovereignty, which is the basis of sovereign equality.

It is also directly linked to the enjoyment of human rights by all persons and by all peoples.

The blockade reflects US aberrant policy against Cuba

The Embassy of Cuba in Tehran hosted a press conference to explain the reasons for a new draft resolution being presented to United Nations General Assembly on October 28, to demand the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US against our country.

Lawmakers Express Rejection to US Blockade against Cuba

CUBA,  October 27, 2014. The economic, financial and commercial blockade the United States has imposed to Cuba for more than 50 years is a failed and genocide policy the international community almost unanimously rejects today, the island''s legislators stated.
The issue of the blockade maintained on Cuba by successive U.S. governments was debated during a hearing of the National Peoples' Power Assembly held last Friday at the Jose Antonio Echeverria Higher Institute for Technical Studies in this capital.

Embassy of Cuba in Egypt denounces genocidal blockade of United States against his country

EGYPT,  October 22, 2014. The Chargé d'Affaires of Cuba in Egypt, Alexander Pellicer Moraga, gave a press conference to Egyptian media, which denounced the genocidal and illegal blockade imposed by United States to the Cuban nation for more than five decades.
