Cuba denounces at the Human Rights Council the violation of human rights of the Cuban people the US blockade represents

GENEVA, March 15, 2016. The Permanent Representative of Cuba, Ambassador Anayansi Rodriguez Camejo, speaking at the 31st regular session of the Human Rights Council, denounced the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba, as a violation of the human rights of an entire people and the main obstacle to the full development of the country.

Jamaica Association of Solidarity with Cuba condemns US blockade

KINGSTON, December 15th, 2015.- Jamaica Association of Solidarity with Cuba adopted a resolution that condemns the policy of blockade imposed by the United States government against Cuba, despite the 23 consecutive years during which the international community has expressed is rejection at United Nations.

The document acknowledges that this policy is outdated and senseless, even more during the current scenario, where United States and Cuba has begun a process toward the normalization of the bilateral relation.

On December 17 last year, the President of the United States of America, Barack Obama, recognized that the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed against Cuba had failed, is obsolete, has not met the originally envisaged goals and causes damages to the Cuban people and isolation to the US Government. 

The blockade against Cuba is an act of Genocide

UNITED STATES, Octuber 21st, 2015.- Cuba is State Party to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide since 1953 and, as such, it is committed to the prevention of this scourge.

Press conference on blockade in Dublin

Cuban Ambassador delivers lecture on blockade at the Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy

ZIMBABWE, October 22sd, 2015.-  Cuban Ambassador, Elio Savon Oliva, delivered a lecture about  the unjust blockade imposed by the United States to Cuba, at the Institute of Diplomacy of Zimbabwe.

The Cuban diplomat explained the history and consequences of the US blockade to the Caribbean Island, as well as the maintenance of this policy even after the executive measures adopted by President Obama and the reestablishment of diplomatic relations.

Parliament of Jamaica adopts motion against the Blockade to Cuba

JAMAICA, October 21st, 2015. The Parliament of Jamaica adopted, last Tuesday, October 20, a motion to condemn the economic, financial and commercial blockade the United States imposes against Cuba.

During an emotional session, the Jamaica legislative body presented, for the seventh consecutive occasion, multiple reasons to reject this criminal policy the United States imposes against the Greater of the Antilles for more than 55 years.
