Cuban Ambassador denounces to the Malaysian press the effects of the blockade

MALAYSIA, August 30, 2018.- - In a meeting with Malaysian media and accredited in the country, the ambassador of Cuba in Malaysia Ibete Fernández Hernández presented the report on the damages caused to Cuba by the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed to Cuba for almost six decades.

The ambassador stressed the tightening of the blockade during the administration of President Trump, which has increased banking persecutions and generated more obstacles to potential commercial relations between both countries. He also referred to the effects caused by the application of the extraterritoriality of the blockade of which Malaysia is not exempt.

During the meeting, the diplomat updated the press about the main events that have taken place in Cuba in 2018, the popular consultation with a view to amend the Constitution that is currently carried out on the island and abroad and on the state and perspectives of bilateral relations.

At the end of the meeting the ambassador was interviewed by Bernama, the national news agency of Malaysia. The interview was published in the digital version of the medium and broadcast at night on its news channel. (Cubavsbloqueo-Embacuba Malaysia)
