CUBA, September 28th, 2016.- Adolescents and young Cubans will express their strong opposition to the US blockade next October 17, during an event for allowing them, who were born under this unjust policy, to show the world how the blockade affects their full development.
At a press conference, the member of the National Bureau of the Young Communist League (UJC) Joan Cabo reported that on October 17, all students in Cuba will take part in different activities at their educational centers, and the University of Havana will be the headquarters.
Joan Cabo explained that some sports and cultural initiatives, exchanges with specialists and presentations of books and photographic exhibitions, will be carried out at the Havana University, where university students will express their disagreement with the blockade imposed on Cuba since more than 50 years.
In addition, social networks will also denounce the damages that have arose from this criminal policy, which between April, 2015 and March, 2016, have caused losses to the educational sector valued at 1 million 245,000.
The National Vice President of Federation of High School Students Niuvis García noted that without such limitations, Cuba could use that money to acquire more inputs that favor the comprehensive education of their students.
The economic, commercial and financial blockade is a permanent violation to the full development of the new generations, the student leader said while reiterating the commitment of this organization to the Revolution.
The president of the Cuban Friendship Institute Kenia Serrano recalled that on the 17th of each month actions are carried out against the blockade, as it was agreed at the People´s Summit in Panama on April, 2015.
Next 26 October, Cuba will present the Report on Resolution 70/5 of the United Nations General Assembly, entitled Necessity of Ending the Economic, Commercial and Financial Blockade Imposed by the United States of America Against Cuba.
