US Senators reintroduce draft bill to expand agricultural sales to Cuba

 US Senators John Boozman and Michael Bennet submitted a draft bill to remove restrictions to private financing for US agricultural exports to Cuba. The Agricultural Export Expansion Act  aims to support producers from Arkansas, Colorado and the entire country by lifting restrictions that prevent using that kind of financing for agricultural exports to Cuba.

Chinese Expert Denounces Extraterritoriality of Helms-Burton Act

The United States has gone too far in activating the chapter of the controversial Helms-Burton law that, apart from pressuring Cuba, hits the entire international community with its extraterritorial character, denounced Sunday a Chinese academic, Pan Deng, expert at the Chinese University of Political Science and Law. 

New Policy against Cuba would strain US links with allies

Two former US officials warned that the new policy of Trump¨s administration against Cuba threatens the relations between the US and its closest allies. Lee Wolosky, former staff member of the National Security Council; and Sam Kleiner, who worked in the Office of the US Trade Representative, wrote an article about the decision of the US government to allow the application of Title III of the Helms- Burton Act.

Mexican businessmen reject application of Helms-Burton on Cuba

The application of the third chapter of the Helms-Burton Law ''is a disgrace and is not good news for any businessman, because it comes to asphyxiate more the economy of Cuba,'' said investor Jaime Torres Escuen, who has been in charge of the Mexico-Cuba Committee of the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade made the statement to newspaper La Jornada.

Cuba: Helms-Burton Act Title III Attacks International Law

Cuba's Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez, has accused the Trump administration on Wednesday of attacking international law and sovereignty by activating Title III of the Helms-Burton Act. United States fines British bank for violating Blockade on Cuba

 British bank Standard Chartered will pay 1.1 billion dollars for allegedly violating U.S. blockade on Cuba and sanctions against Iran, Syria, Sudan and Myanmar, the US Treasury Department reported today. The London-based institution agreed to pay 947 million dollars to US entities, including 639 million to the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the Treasury department.

United States sanctions British Group for violating Cuba blockade

The United States informed that the British Acteon Group will have to pay 227,500 dollars for alleged violations of the blockade on Cuba. The Office of Foreign Assets Control of the Treasury Department announced that it had reached an agreement with the company to 'liquidate the possible civil liability for seven apparent violations of the Cuban Assets Control Regulations.
