Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Jamaica Speaks in Favour of the End of the U.S. Blockade against Cuba JAMAICA, September 27, 2011.- Last Monday, 26th September, during his address at the General Debate of the 66th Session of the UN general Assembly, Dr. Kenneth Baugh, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Jamaica, spoke in favour of the lifting of the unjust blockade that the U.S has imposed against Cuba for more than five decades.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Jamaica said among other things that “Cuba must have the space to foment its own development, free from the decades-long embargo which has slowed its growth, but not its will to improve the welfare of its people and of other developing countries...”.
Jamaica has traditionally endorsed the resolution against the U.S. blockade which Cuba has been presenting to the UN General Assembly. (Cubaminrex/ Embacuba Jamaica)
