Havana, May 25 (PL).- Reverend Lucius Walker, leader and founder of Pastors for Peace Movement, described as draconian the new US measures against Cuba, when he arrived here on Monday.
Such regulations are so evil as is the current occupier of the White House, who hopes to gain more votes in Florida with that and provoke a change of regime in the island, he said.
In effect, he added, a change of regime would be good, but not in Cuba, in the United States.
The US religious leader arrived in Cuba heading a group of US citizens interested in learning about the advances in the Cuban health system, that is why his agenda includes contacts with officials, specialists and professors of the medical sciences.
Among the institutions they will visit is the Latin American School of Medicine, located in the outskirts of the capital where several hundred youths from different parts of the world study to be doctors.
Accompanying the group, said Walker, come two youths who hope to study at that magnificent School.
In 1992, the Pastors for Peace Movement organized the first Friendship Motorcade US-Cuba, which has been returning each year since then with material aid, specially pharmaceuticals, medical equipment and transport vehicles.
Lucius Walker and the group travelling with him were received by Jose Millar Barruecos, secretary of the Council of State.
