Tokyo, Jun 24 (Prensa Latina).- The Japanese Federation of Women’s Organizations (FUDANREN) has condemned the measures announced by the US government on May 6, aimed to strengthen the blockade against Cuba and try to destroy the revolution.

"These measures ignore international law and ride roughshod over the right to self-determination of the Cuban people," says the message from FUDANREN, which comprises 20 women’s organizations in Japan.

FUDANREN denounced the United States for maintaining the blockade against Cuba for more that 40 years despite the vote by the UN General Assembly every year to lift this unjust measure.

The Japanese federation expressed its solidarity with the Cuban people -and Cuban women- in the struggle against US hostility and aggression, and called upon the Japanese government not to support the White House´s interventionist policy.

The Japanese women´s association expressed a deep respect for the Cuban government that -despite the US blockade- makes its best efforts to maintain the social achievements of the people, such as free access to education and health care
